      Professor Bjub and Prinssi Kefiri

Professor Bjub and Prinssi Kefiri (also known as the Bear) are alter egos of Suvi’s and Dash’s solo works. Professor Bjub is a silly know-it-all academic, and Prinssi Kefiri is a traveling serious bear-clown trained by the Professor. They show up as an awkward and determined duo in various instances, both comical and tragic situations and try to make the best of it, but often fail. In this odd duo constellation we embrace our own silliness and bring feminist and queer humor into the work that is suitable for adults, youth and children.

This is Not a Show (August 2024)

In This is Not a Show Professor Bjub and Prinssi Kefiri clash for the first time in a performance setting as a flamboyant duo. During the 35-min show Professor and the Bear gather the crowd by entertaining them with tricks and stories. There is a suspence because the Bear is the biggest Bjub’s asset - in the right conditions they can show a “million euro” trick enough for Bjub to become rich forever. But can Bjub make the Bear do it? Bjub vs Bear game count begins...

The work was made for Myyrmäki public square as a part of One-Day Stand event of Other Side Vantaa project.

Spacing Out for the Contemporary Performance Audience (November 2024)

In Spacing Out for the Contemporary Art Audience performed at the opening of Kiss my ARS gallery in Kumpula neighborhood of Helsinki, Professor Bjub and the Bear invited the audience to be a part of a spacing out experiment. The experiment stemmed from the duo’s years-long research on attention economy in contemporary art.
